It doesn’t serve you…

I see a lot of Clients in my Therapy Room and what a truly amazing bunch they are 😁

We spend a lot of time talking about past actions that still resonate with them today.

My advice is always the same…..

If it doesn’t serve you, you must get rid of it.

We are emotive creatures, who for some unfathomable reason seem to enjoy dragging our past mistakes with us, like a giant bag dragging behind us……!

Then when things are going well in our lives for some unknown reason we take ourselves off, find a nice quiet rock, admire the scenery, then have a good old rummage in that bag.

From the depths of it we drag up something long buried for the simple reason of …….. punishing ourselves! How dare we dream of being even remotely happy…… flippin rude!!!

Yes brain you’re absolutely right, I definitely needed to be reminded of that horrific time at Great Aunt Mildred’s birthday when I walked back into the bar with toilet paper hanging from my undergarments!!!!

Spot on dude!!!

However this doesn’t actually have to be the way!

Energy Work is an answer, Reiki will help you release what no longer serves you, literally and figuratively freeing you for a better today, and room for an amazing tomorrow.

Disease V Dis Ease

Dis Ease in our body can come from many different sources:

~prolonged exposure to high levels of stress

~eating and drinking the wrong food / drinks

~ physical external trauma

~addiction

~being around negative people / situations

And many more

now this dis ease can manifestate in many forms, with quick initial symptoms being, but not exclusively:

– shaking

– palpitations

– blood pressure irregularities

– skin issues

– interruption in sleep pattern

– low mood

– loss of appetite

– increases in appetite

– mood swings

And most startling of all, if the this exposure is prolonged the result is simply

Disease within the body

We are allowing our bodies to be placed almost in a perfect environment for that negativity, heightened emotion and pressure to breed.

Please don’t think we’re saying this is always the case, because it isn’t. However if you place your body under prolonged severe pressure it WILL crumble, taking your physical, mental, emotional and psychological health with it.

Remember it’s not just about going to a gym and working out – that’s great, but it’s not going to look after your whole person.

Please visit a Wellbeing Therapist regularly and seek treatments that will support and sustain your whole being.

Plus it’s a great opportunity for a sleep

Improve Your Mood

This week I had the pleasure of spending time with many (many) 16 year olds who are just beginning their Sixth Form Journey.

We spoke about many things, including but not exclusively

  1. Harry Potter
  2. Game of Thrones
  3. Astronauts
  4. Architects
  5. Chinese tourists
  6. How old I am!!!
  7. Free diving
  8. University
  9. Buying a house
  10. Dancing

But the main theme throughout the day was to get across the message that at 16 years old they have the ability to take hold of their own mental wellbeing and therefore Improve Their Mood.

Your brain can be your own worst nightmare, feeding you stories that simply aren’t true, how ugly you are, how worthless you’ve become, no one likes you.

However with the support of Meditation and particularly Mindfulness you can slow your brain down and begin to break down those stories into exactly what they are – Little puffs of smoke that float away into the ether.

Getting hold of your mental wellbeing at a young age will enable you to form a solid and ever evolving relationship with it, because make no mistake your brain will, if given the opportunity, push you to breaking point.

You must start from somewhere, so how about this statement……….

‘ You matter, you’re important, and you’re going to make such an impact upon this world.’

This is not going to be some quick fix, because such a thing doesn’t exists. However if your practice mediating and living a mindful existence slowly you will slow down and improve your mood.
